The Essential Family Guide to Borderline Personality Disorder:

The Essential Family Guide to Borderline Personality Disorder:

For family members of people with borderline personality disorder (BPD), home life is routinely unpredictable and frequently unbearable. Extreme mood swings, impulsive behaviors, and suicidal tendencies—common conduct among those who suffer from the disorder—leave family members feeling confused, hurt, and helpless.

In her pioneering first book Stop Walking on Eggshells, co-authored with Paul T. Mason, Randi Kreger outlined the fundamental differences in the way that people with borderline personality disorder (BPD) relate to the world. Now, with The Essential Family Guide to Borderline Personality Disorder, she takes readers to the next level, giving them straightforward tools to get off the emotional roller coaster and repair relationships with loved ones with BPD. Kreger answers the questions family members most want to ask about:  the symptoms and treatment of BPD, including why BPD is so misdiagnosed; how symptoms can differ by age and gender; and how addiction and other disorders complicate BPD. She then outlines how families can set boundaries and communicate differently in order to help themselves and their loved ones cope with this bewildering form of mental illness.

    Your questions about pregnancy exercise

Posted by Body Building Exercises | Uncategorized | Monday 28 February 2011 6:05 am

    Lisa asks…

    pregnancy exercise?

hi im on my 33rd week of pregnancy. ive been doing a little walking. anyone can sugguest an exercise that can help me during labor? thanks =)

    Body Building Exercises answers:

Always consult your doctor before begining any exercise, I walked a lot during my pregnancy, swimming is also a good exercise which is not too hard on your body. They also have yoga for pregnant women. Here is a website that has info about it.
    http://yoga.about.com/od/prenatalyoga/Practicing_Yoga_During_Pregnancy.htm

    John asks…

    Pregnancy Exercise?

Please read all of this and answer these questions. A website on babycenter.com said that you should not exercise if you’re expecting twins or multiples. What’s wrong with exercise during a twin or multiple pregnancy? What exercises are safe during pregnancy? Jumping? Jogging? Stretching? Yoga? ty.
Also, I have a benign brain lipoma. My memory is slowly going away. I have lots of forgetfulness and it is getting worse. Is this the brain lipoma? I go to the neurologist Nov. 27 about the tumor. Should I tell her about all my forgetfulness?

    Body Building Exercises answers:

exercising with multiples is not advised during mid to late pregnancy because it increases the chances of pre term labor. yoga is very popular during pregnancy, as are long walks, water aerobics, and most anything that doesnt involve strenuous/jumping activities.

and yes, you should certainly tell your doctor about your memory problems. the more she knows the better she can help you and your baby.

    Betty asks…

    Pregnancy & exercise?

What are some of the best exercises I can do right now, I’m 24 wks pregnant & I need to strengthen my body some. I haven’t exercised since I got pregnant. Also does anyone know any sight that I can learn some of this at for free? And does anyone know of a free pregnancy yoga sight?

    Body Building Exercises answers:

If you haven’t exercised a lot in your pregnancy, you shouldn’t start anything too strenuous now. It’s still ok to work out and exercise, but nothing TOO tough.

Walking is going to be one of your best things you can do, especially near the end of your pregnancy. You have to walk a lot though, like for an hour or more. Take breaks if you get tired, and bring water and healthy snacks if you need energy.

You can also lift weights, just keep the weight low. Don’t push yourself to lift a lot of weight. Do bicep curls, tricep extensions, and lateral raises. You can also do squats and lunges to keep your legs toned. If you do crunches, keep them low and gentle. Don’t try too hard.

Eating REALLY healthy will be great for you and your baby. Eat a lot of vegetables and whole grains. And drink a LOT of milk.

I bought an exercise resistance band when I was pregnant. It was great because I could do a lot of exercises at home, without having to buy a bunch of bulky and heavy weights. Also, it came with an instruction sheet with tons of exercises on it. I brought the sheet into my next Ob-Gyn and asked her to point out what exercises were ok to do while pregnant.

Then, after I had the baby, I still used the exercise band. I also joined Stroller Strides exercise program. It’s a national thing they have in the US (not sure where you’re from). Check out their website to see if they have something near you. It was a great way to lose baby weight, get healthy, and meat health-conscious moms. Check it out.

    Good luck with the baby!

    Donna asks…

What some Key Factors for Post Pregnancy Exercise Programs?

I need to learn how to put together the best Post Pregnancy Exercise Program

    Body Building Exercises answers:

One very important element is the warmup! Make sure you warm up by stretching correctly or else you will hurt your self.

Check out the article below for ten tips for perfect stretching

    Robert asks…

What is a good amount of exercise during pregnancy?

i’m 12 weeks +4 days and would like to know if anyone has any advice on exercise during pregnancy?
how much do you do? What sort of exercise do you do?

    Body Building Exercises answers:

Just go with what your body is telling you. A good amount of about 20 minutes of exercise a day is good, but just make sure you do not get dehydrated and exhaust yourself too much. If you need to stop then stop.

Good things for pregnancy you can do are…
    Walking
    Swimming
Yoga (which can be done at home with a dvd if you dont want to go to a class)

Your questions about muscle building foods

Posted by Body Building Exercises | Uncategorized | Sunday 27 February 2011 6:05 am

    Helen asks…

What are your favorite muscle-building foods?

I’ve been wondering what some other people take for building up muscle – also what your favorite pre-workout and post-workout foods or supplements are!

    Body Building Exercises answers:

Foods: fat free milk, turkey, tuna fish, chicken

Supplements: protein shake, multivitamin, leukic, gakic, creatine

    Sandy asks…

What are good muscle building foods?

I’m starting to work out and is there any food or drink I can use to help aid in building muscles? Protein does that right? Help. Thanks.

    Body Building Exercises answers:

Yes! Plenty of protein is vital for building muscle. You can either get your protein from natural foods, or there are some muscle gainer and protein shakes out there, but i would be cautious of these because they often contain a lot of calories/sugar. Whey protein mixes are often the best, however. Here is a list of some foods rich in protein that you can add to your diet:

    -canned tuna
-lean beef and or chicken breasts
    -dairy products (milk and yogurt)
    -beans
    -cottage cheese
    -nuts
    -lean deli turkey slices

    Best of luck!

    Steven asks…

If i just workout and not eat muscle building foods will i gain muscle?

I’ll just eat my normal everyday foods i always eat, not focus on what i should to gain muscle like protien. Would I still get a six pack?

    Body Building Exercises answers:

Protien helps a lot. But whatever you eat, you need lots of it if you want to gain muscle. And make sure that you burn off most of the calories from what you ate or it turns to fat.

    Linda asks…

What are good foods to building muscle foods?

I know protein is good, but can you name what specific protein foods are the best for building muscle, i dont want to be a body builder or notin, but just want to gain some muscle

Your questions about bodybuilding back exercises

    Robert asks…

May i know why? What went wrong? How can i get my bodybuilding mind & body back on track ?

Guys, i need some motivation from you all. I’m like off the track. I’m like seeing my body going down each day :( any training/exercise to get it back ? Diets or anything ?

    Body Building Exercises answers:

Increase the protein in your diet and increase the intensity and frequency of your workouts and try and stay positive. Maybe try and find a workout buddy as this can also help to keep you motivated. Good luck!

    Joseph asks…

Do you go back to bodybuilding after a hernia Alarpi?

Hello, I guy from Iraq – Baghdad i have 26 years …. I love the game of bodybuilding so much ….. But during exercise, I felt pain in the testicular area …. I went to the Dr. said to me, I’m from the hernia Alarpi
My question Can I return to the game of bodybuilding ….. After hernia repair (Surgery )

    Body Building Exercises answers:

Sometimes hernia repair surgery causes damage which leads to long-term pain, especially when you exercise. This can happen in up to 30 per cent of cases. If your surgery is free of problems, then after you have healed you should be able to resume bodybuilding. However there is always a risk of recurrence and a second hernia repair is more likely to lead to long-term complications. You can heal your own hernia if you take things easy for a while and check out FalconBlanco on YouTube.com. I’d also recommend joining some bodybuilding forums and asking if anyone there knows of bodybuilders who have had hernia surgery.

    Thomas asks…

    – Bodybuilding.com –should be your Bible from now on.
Seriously just go there and enjoy – make an account

    Mary asks…

    back exercise?

    Hello,
there is an exercise: Straight-Arm Pulldown.

Stand in front of a lat pulldown bar with your arms outstretched towards the bar. Place your palms flat on the bar and pull it down to shoulder level. Keeping your elbows slightly bent and your wrists locked, pull the bar down towards your body in an arcing motion. Once you contracted the lats fully and the bar has touched or come close to your thighs, slowly allow the bar to come back up to the starting position. Keep your torso erect!

is there an exersise that is the oppisite. Straight-Arm pull-up? not upright row. not bent over row.

    http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/exercises.php?MainMuscle=Lats

    does anyone do these?
    what is your back workout?

    Body Building Exercises answers:

The opposite of a Straight-Arm pull down is a Straight-Arm pull up. It doesn’t exist as a published weight training technique, and for good reason. A straight-arm pull up past the horizontal would not be advised nor recommended due to possible impingement and damage to the rotor cuff. It also would a very restrictive and a highly ineffective exercise. It would work the anterior deltoid (front of the shoulder) although there would be considerable assistance from the pecs. If you were do attempt this exercise, I would highly recommend you use dumbells and keep the elbow bent during the movement (at least 15-30 degrees) and always make sure your arms are slightly abducted.

The most effective exercise according to EMG analysis for the Lats is the bent-over row done either bilaterally with a bar or unilaterally with dumbells. Wide-grip Chins, and Lat pulldowns are also very effective. I use all of these as a staple in my back workouts.

Here’s a whole list of back exercises:

    Helen asks…

how long will it take to reach these bodybuilding goals?

    1. gain 2 inches on chest and back
    2. lose 2 inches on my waist.
    3. gain 2 inches on arms.

What exercises/diet plan should I go with?
I’m 16 and I’ve been working out for about 3 months now and have gained 30 lbs. of muscle. but also 2 inches on my waist. :( I’m not close to being fat at all though.

    Body Building Exercises answers:

Buy muscle milk. It’s expensive as hell but my bench went from 245 to 325 in 4 months from lifting 4 days a week for 1 and a half hours. Go out for a light jog, doesnt have to be 2 miles lol. If you take creatine, only take amplified creatine 189 cause it won’t dehydrate you so bad. And mix gatorade and water 50/50, gatorade has alot of sugar and drink as much water as you do sugar
